Well hello there! Welcome to my studio.
For as long as I can remember I have been creating art and testing the rules of the media in my hands. Though much of the art I have made is simply not "good", I believe every attempt is a step forward in my creative journey. Each craft builds a skill and knowledge base that makes it possible to make new mistakes faster so I can get to the ending art pieces that were hiding in my heart and head until my hands could catch up.
The fragrant arts have been a special passion for decades. Beauty seen by the eye is matched by olfactory senses. That dimension of smell immerses me in memories and feelings that are nearly indescribable. Nature has fragrant notes that combine in limitless combinations allowing for expression in every dynamic.
My natural curiosity combined with a love of science led me directly to soap, candles and similar products to share with my friends and fans. Expanding upon those products into hair care, skin care and farm products surrounds me and my family with lovely smelling, effective pieces of consumable art every day of our lives.
When I felt I had mastered those skills it seemed natural to explore containers for those products. Purchasing glass, metal, and paper products to hold my pieces just seemed like a place to improve my art in a new direction. From sculpting and casting new molds to wheel throwing pottery pieces for candles and every scientific step in between I've delved deeper into my love of creating something timeless from literal dust. I finally feel like I found my lane, and intend to explore the complexities of mixing my own clays, colorants and glazes for as long as I am able to lift those heavy packages and see clearly what I'm doing.
